Hey, I’m Minho Kim.

I’m addicted to learning how this world works.

I’m a climate change reporter focusing on transportation and the energy transition to renewable power.
I covered President Biden’s struggle in brining high-speed rail to the U.S., Chicago’s push for building energy regulation and the problem of offshore wind turbines that now stand taller than the Golden Gate Bridge.
I’m also a business reporter with an economics degree from Northwestern University.
I have written on foreboding recession, a federal cannabis legislation that would give the industry banking access and a Latina Democrat’s effort to sell her economic progressivism.
Last but not least, I’m an aspiring data journalist with proficiency in Python programming language for data analysis.
I analyzed a FEMA National Flood Insurance Program claims data file with more than 2.5 million rows and wrote a story on the lack of flood insurance in rural Appalachian towns.
Below are some of my other works that I’m proud of.

Bio

Minho Kim is a journalist based in Washington D.C. Minho feels immense joy in distilling complex ideas down to a few concise paragraphs. That requires profound understanding of what he is reporting on, but Minho loves threading pieces of scattered information into a holistic narrative that can stand alone. He was born and raised in Seoul, South Korea but grew up speaking both languages — English and Korean. Minho calls himself a voluntary third-culture adult who knows how to switch codes between cultures, languages and human emotions.
